Developing Your Elevator Pitch

An elevator speech should "sum up unique aspects of your service or product in a way that excites others.
The goal is to deliver the right information with the right tempo and polish, such that the prospect will want a follow up meeting with you.
What is the right tempo?
about 30 seconds- the approximate duration of an elevator ride from the 1st floor to the top floor.
What is the right polish?
Well-rehearsed so you can deliver the message with a feeling of ease.

NEW - Healthcare IT Subgroup
We have recently created a subgroup designed to encourage collaboration and networking between ABEST members who are interested in information/computer science in a clinical /health care setting. The primary focus of the Healthcare IT sub-group is to:
Health Informatics: Atlanta Gets $1.65 Million Training Grant
Atlanta has won a $1.65 million federal grant to train the chronically unemployed and veterans to become health information technology workers.
The program is intended to spur job growth and public-private partnerships across the country.
Atlanta was one of 20 regions to win the funding, which averaged $1.8 million per project. There were 125 applicants.
